We had a great time with our apples theme last week… we ate, and we ate, and we ate…
We made apple kabob patterns and did a little apple writing. These are from Kim Adsit’s Apples and Pumpkins Literacy and Math Unit.
One of my sweet parents sent me a recipe for Granola Apple Crunch! I made it in the crock pot, then we spooned it over vanilla ice cream (our reward for filling our class bucket).
Then… One of my good friends and classroom parents made apple sauce and apple butter… Um… over an open fire!!! All 150 pounds of apples… she is a maniac! Hello? How awesome is that?
Jody (above) and her husband Bill are also the founders of Earth’s Classroom. This is truly an amazing organization. They provide hands-on, experiential environmental education to students and families. If you are looking for a GREAT field trip, you will LOVE taking a trip to their facility!
Then of course we ate again!
I will be back later with my upcoming Peek at my Week!
