You all know about “teachable moments”? Well, we had one today. I was rummaging through my classroom closet when something caught my eye. At first I thought it was a mouse, but it didn’t have a real tail on it… hmmm??? It was a shrew!
I have no idea how it got in my closet, but I have to say it is SUPER cute. My students squealed with delight. They decided that Theodora (our guinea pig) had invited the shrew to our room.
We hopped on the internet and found all sorts of information on our new classroom friend, the North American Least Shrew. Holy smokes! Here is what we found out:
|Theodora-Babies have hair, pet, teeth growing.
Both-both have fur.
Shrew-has venom, it is wild, sharp teeth
