As promised… Here are a few more of my reflections on Geometry.
Debbie Diller suggests having your kiddos go on a Shape Hunt (p.165). My students LOVE doing this with magazines. I start them out hunting for various colors at the beginning of the year. Once they understand the process, we can move onto shapes.

Another suggestion was to go on treasure hunt using positional words… LOVE this idea. I created a little FREEBIE. You can hide the “backpack” in your classroom. Then place the clue cards around the room. I have never tried this, but I imagine they will love this activity.
