We sing and practice these poems each day. By Friday each student is fluent (and they LOVE it). On this day we looked for a few vowels (the pink), but you can have them focus on anything you wish (letters, sounds, mechanics). He is also sorting words by beginning blends.
Students are all active in this process. No beauty shop or shoe repairman here!
Then they complete the sort in their interactive poetry notebook. These notebooks match the whole group sort… we are in it together.
There are Monday and Tuesday activities.
