How about a kindergarten fall free file? I would love to share it with you along with these perfect math and literacy centers for October!
I love math and literacy stations that offer “I Can” cards. This is how we move students towards independence. When they are uncertain about how to do a center, they can simply review the “I Dan” card and they are off and running! I have been using “I Can” task cards for years and it certainly helps my students work independently.
Math and Literacy Centers
Students love these colorful activities! Students will practice writing their numerals! The cards show the students the path of motion. We want to build muscle memory!
There are two options with this station… students can write the October content words or listen for syllables. You can decide which skill you want the students to work on.
Thumbs up or thumbs down… do these two words rhyme? Simple yet effective!
Listen for the two words that begin the same! This is a sort of “Odd man out” game.

Black Ink Only
If you are wanting to save on colored in, you might be interested in this set of center activities. Some teachers have to pay for their own ink or are limited on the amount of colored printing they can do at school. The colored card stock adds a ton of interest to these stations.
This is a sight word spin and write activity. It is programmable, so you can enter your own sight words.
Students will compare the numerals to decide which is more.
This is a fun fine motor station. I buy all of my spinners on Amazon. You can see them HERE (affiliate link*)
This activity asks the students to sort, count, and record!
