Kindergarten Lesson Plans Week 4 featuring ideas for Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse! Woo HOO!
Week 4 Lesson Plans for Reading
We love Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes! It is a MUST read every year with our Engaging Readers units.
The retell cards really provide a structure for students to practice noticing the text key ideas. They also help build students’ oral language as they practice retelling the story with their partner.
After students are done discussing the text with their partner, they construct their own retelling. Thank you to the sweet teacher who sent me this class photo!
You can grab this activity for FREE! It is part of our Curriculum Guide and you can find the link at the bottom of this blog post. (The free sample starts on page 32 of this download).
