# Math and Literacy Centers for Winter

Kindergarten math and literacy worksheets and centers make student stations a breeze during the winter months!

### Ink Saving Winter Centers

I created these Black Ink Only centers because I had heard that many of you did not have access to color ink!  These simply print on colored cardstock!  Here is what  January’s units looked like.  Students are making 10 and writing the equations.
These students are counting the items and creating an addition sentence.

This student is putting the numbers in numerical order.

#### Here are the skills covered in February’s units:

Literacy Stations
• Long vowel sort
• Short vowel puzzles
• Digraph spin game
• Beginning sounds
• Ending sounds
• Sentence writing
Math Stations
• Ten frames
• Base ten blocks
• Making 10
• Numerical order
• Counting and cardinality
• Subtraction

If you prefer color, then there is an option for you too.
In this January unit, students are reading and identifying the CVC words.
This student is listening for the short vowel sound.

And this kindergarten friend is listening for the digraph!

#### Here are the skills covered in February’s units:

Each of these kindergarten math and literacy worksheets and activities is predictable… meaning, each month builds on the previous month.  This makes these activities easy to implement.  Once you have taught these centers to your students at the beginning of the school year, you can simply swap out the centers month after months.  This helps your students gain confidence and independence.  The result?  Students are working on their own and YOU can work with your small groups without interruption!  SCORE!
