This week I do not have many photos from my classroom. I tore out of there on Tuesday after school to rush towards the airport.
Big news for the Wills family!
We sold our house in Missouri.
And we are in the process of moving to Castle Rock, Colorado.
When I tell people this, these are the questions I get asked… so I will try to answer them…
Our house sold WAY faster than we anticipated, so I will live with my parents until the end of the school year in Missouri, while my husband sets up the house in Colorado. The Perfect Son is going to stay at the University of Missouri, Science and Technology until he graduates. I know Colorado has an excellent mining engineering school, but he is already settled and will be starting his 3rd year next year… WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN?
I will say that I LOVE Missouri and the people of Missouri, however we fell in LOVE with Colorado.
Yes, I have every intention of teaching kindergarten again! I love it! It is in my bones. I may take next year for presenting while I transfer my credential and get to know the area better. I actually won’t be an official resident until June you know. However, I would love to volunteer in classrooms and schools in the Castle Rock area… I! Will! Be! Your! Teacher! Slave! Just email me if you are in the area and want a little FREE labor next year. [email protected]
Onward…
Next week we will be talking about the good old friend, the Gingerbread Boy.
You can grab this FREE download (an oldie, but a goodie.)
I also finished these two units (um… finally). Congratulations to my two Facebook Winners!
You can get these units at a discount until the end of the day.
Listen Up! Kindergarten for December
Just Roll with it! December
Have a great week!

I can't even imagine having you work as a volunteer in someone's class. How lucky would they be?! Wow! I'd move to Colorado in a second. It's beautiful. Happy December, Deedee! Lots to look forward to.
Happy December to you too my dear friend!!!
Wow! What a transition! What made you fall in love with Colorado? We have some extended family in Colorado and have toyed with idea of moving there, but all of our immediate family in where we live. It's just so dang expensive!
What I Have Learned
Jessica, It is just so beautiful. I am not a fan of humidity… which we have plenty of in Missouri. However, I will miss many things about Missouri I am sure.
You will love Colorado! I taught there for 17 years! I moved to VT three years ago but hope to move back in the next 4-5 years. I taught in Cherry Creek Schools, which is the best school district! (I amy be a little biased). It is north of Castle Rock which is in Douglas County school district. I have several teaching friends who would love for you to come play! I wish I was still there so that you could come play with me. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, I would love to help! [email protected] Good luck on your new adventure! So excited! Colorado is the best!
Dear, Sweet Emma! I just emailed you. You are talking me off of the ledge. ha!
How exciting!!! I love Colorado! Living in Kansas, it is a quick and awesome place to go on long weekends! Castle Rock is in a perfect location!!!!! 🙂
I would love to see you for a little getaway weekend!!!! Let's plan something for June-ish!
Best of luck, Deedee! Wish you were moving to Maine. I'd love to have you volunteer in my classroom.
WOW! I am always in awe of people who live in their home state (or where they've lived for a long time) and move. I am scared of change. However, without change, we couldn't adapt, and without adaptation, we would be very stagnant. I applaud you on your embrace of the new endeavors! Whatever school/classroom that gets you will be AN EXTREMELY BLESSED school/classroom (in that regard, I wish you were moving here to MD! Ha ha!). I think it's a great idea to take the year off and get your feet wet. But if you jump right in and find something you like, that would be great too. Because you are totally awesome-sauce, wherever you go and whatever you do, you will land on your feet! 🙂
Best of luck Deedee! Next year's Missouri Teacher Meet Up won't be the same without you! Castle Rock is lucky to have you!

A Kinder Kindergarten
Let's try to do something before the end of the year?! What do you think?
Would love to have your expertise in my classroom. Would you consider a 6 hour commute from Castle Rock?
Ha! That might be stretching it a wee bit 🙂
You are going to so enjoy Colorado! I live and teach kindergarten in the Denver area and would be head over heels to have your expertise and knowledge in my classroom. Once you are settled I would also LOVE the opportunity to come and observe in your classroom! I feel like a celebrity is moving to town : )
Oh Mercy! I am not that exciting! Ha! I am so excited and hearing from you sweet friends have helped with my worry about being kidless next year.
Awesome! I moved here last year from Kansas. I live in Parker and teach in Aurora. Aurora can be a tough place to teach but my kindergartners are amazing! My teammates and I would LOVE to have you come hang with us next year! We use a lot of your products in our own classrooms and follow your blog for tips, inspiration and ideas.
Welcome to the Centennial State! It's an amazing place to live! If you have any questions let me know. 🙂

Thank you so much Beth! We will have to get together once I get out there! I am so excited!
That's so exciting! I LOVE Colorado! Someday, when I'm old and gray, I want to retire and move to Colorado! We spent some time in Colorado Springs and Boulder a few years ago and didn't want to come home! It's so beautiful there and the low humidity is fabulous! Those teachers in Colorado don't know how lucky they are! You'll love it and the time between now and the move will just fly by.
Lucky you!!
Best of luck to you! What a big change! My brother used to live in Colorado and he didn't like all of the snow. We drove through Colorado on our trip out west and the western US is totally different and so beautiful. If you ever get to Ohio (wink, wink), I would love to have you visit!! 🙂
I was there last year for SDE. Ohio is a GREAT place!!
So I'm not sure how I missed this post last year, but what a small world! We moved in September of 2014 from Baltimore to Castle Rock! We LOVE it and couldn't be happier. Are you enjoying it too? I've opted not to teach again this year and will reevaluate in the spring for next fall. I don't think I could teach in a public school here after teaching in a private school for so long in Baltimore. There are a lot of charter options though, so we'll see. If you'd ever like to grab coffee or something like that, please let me know. It's been great how friendly everyone is around here (night and day compared to Baltimore), but I'm always looking for more new company…..especially new transplants and teachers like myself.
