December kindergarten resources are here! Ready or not! November seemed to fly by… blink and you will be knee deep in December! It is such a BUSY time of the year for most people, but for teachers, it can be down-right overwhelming. I have gathered some ideas you can use for December in your classroom.
Books to read in December
So many books… so little time! Here are a few favorites!
Ordinary Mary’s Extraordinary Deed
This book has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I love the idea of paying it forward! This is EXACTLY the theme of this great book!
We made a fun activity for students to do that explores chain reactions!
Another book about giving is Peter’s Chair. Peter is less than excited about giving his chair to his baby sister. However, he has a change of heart!
We have a STEM challenge for this book!
Snow is Falling
This is an informational book about snow. GREAT for December!
Bear Snores On
This is a sweet story about a group of unlikely friends! So precious!
We have a little stem challenge for this book too!
December would not be complete without lots of gingerbread man stories!
These books are included in our Guiding Readers units. These units allow students to interact with the text to deepen their understanding.
