We loved our listening station last year. I will try answer some common questions.

Where did you get your listening station?
Let me show you how SIMPLE mine is. I picked up my CD player from Walmart pretty inexpensively but, of course, amazon has one available too, you can find it HERE. I grabbed two paint pens and marked the play and stop buttons.
The response papers are kept in the little basket under the CD player. The rack is a little kitchen rack. CHEAP! In my opinion, you don’t need a big expensive set up. My students sit on the floor on the comfy rug.
Where do you get your books?
I have always gotten them from Scholastic. I can usually cover the expense with my points.
This year we are using the See Saw catalog.
Some of you know, that I have co-created listening station response pages for the monthly CD packs that come out of this catalog.
What is included in your Listen Up! units?
Each book has multiple word work activities so you can differentiate your tasks. There are also several different response sheets for each book (also differentiated). Here are some of the response pages for two of our books from the September 2016-2017 unit.
No, I don’t. I teach my students to keep the volume low…so when my old headphone bit the dust, I never replaced them. This is so much easier… plus, I can monitor their progress from across the room.
Will you make a bundle each year?
YEP! They will be a growing bundles.
I really wish Scholastic would announce the books they will use in advance, but… they didn’t ask me.
You can find the bundle for the 2016-2017 school year by clicking HERE.
Can I get the past bundles?
YES! The retired sets have HUGE discount. Chances are, you have some of these books already! Click HERE to see all of the Listening Stations and Listening Centers!
