  • CVCe Words with letter i – kindergarten students write each sound to complete the word. This is a fun way for students to practice basic phonics skills. 
  • Unscramble the letters printable worksheet – kindergarteners will unscramble the letters to build each word then circle the letters that make up each short i-word family. This worksheet would be great for your small groups.
  • Short I or Long I – kindergarten students will color the fishing bobbers according to the letter I sound they make. This worksheet is also a great way for students to strengthen their fine motor skills while strengthing their letter sound skills. 
  • Upper Case Letter or Lowercase Letter I – kindergarten students will look at the letters on each fish and color the fish according to lowercase letters or capital letters. This is a great letter recognition activity in which students can practice lowercase letter identification and uppercase letter identification. 
  • Glue the Missing Vowel – kindergarten students will cut and glue the correct vowel to complete the word. Students will cut and glue the letter i or letter y to complete the words such as cry, dime, pipe, fly, and sky. This is a great way for younger children to identify the sounds the letter y makes.
