Product Description

Kindergarten centers to keep your students engaged and learning during center time while you’re instructing your small groups in math and ELA. These literacy centers and math centers are perfect for the beginning of the school year.

This bundle of fun back to school themed centers was created for kindergarten classrooms. Center rotations provide kindergarten students with an opportunity to practice math skills and literacy skills with independent work.

There are 2 versions of each center activity. The center cards can be printed with color ink or there is a black ink-only option, as well. There are a variety of activities to meet the needs of your students throughout the school year.

Colorful Alphabet – Students will say the letter name on the center card. Then, they color a crayon next to the correct letter on their response sheet. ABC centers are perfect for the beginning of the year!

Back to School Letter Sounds – Students match a letter card to the correct picture card to show the beginning sound. Students then practice letter formation when they write the letter on the response sheet. There are 3 different sets for this literacy center.

Smarty Snakes – Students say the names of the uppercase letters on the center cards. Then they color the matching lowercase letters and write the letters on the lines. Another great way to practice letter recognition at the beginning of the school year.

Whoo Has a Letter? – In this simple activity, students practice print concepts by sorting the words and letters.

Rainbow Alphabet – Kindergarten students have a great time tracing or coloring the letters of the alphabet to match their cards.

Sentences for Back to School – Students match each picture with the correct sentence and practice writing those sentences.

Curvy or Straight Letters? – Students determine if the letters have curvy or straight lines.

Back to School Syllables – Students clap out the number of syllables and color a school bus for each syllable.

MATH CENTERS – For this set of math centers, students work with numbers 1-6.

Counting on Pie – Students will love using dry-erase markers with this number writing center. Tiny apples show students the right place to begin writing.

On our Way with 10 Frames – Students color ten frames to match their number cards.

Trace the Shape – Students say the name of the 2D shape on their card and trace the correct shape on their response sheet.

Missing Pencils – Students identify the missing number and write the numbers in order.

Counting on Lunch – Get students started on math foundational skills with this counting objects center.

School Tools – Another fun way to practice counting objects. Students count the pictures and write to tell how many.

New Friends – Students count the kids and write to tell how many.

Bus Stops Here – Students match the numbers with the correct ten frames.

These predictable kindergarten centers are ideal for any classroom because the activities do not have to be retaught month-after-month. The students can apply their new knowledge to the same activities, with different themes each month.

Each kindergarten center has a recording sheet that can be used for tracking student progress during these independent activities.

These are purposely predictable kindergarten math and literacy center activities and they are EASY PREP! Plus, each activity is standards aligned.

Included in each month of kindergarten learning centers:

  • Minimum of 8 kindergarten literacy centers (colored & black and white versions)
  • Minimum of 8 kindergarten math centers (colored & black and white versions)
  • Recording sheet for each activity
  • Each center has 9-12 task cards for extra practice
  • “I Can” cards to help build student independence

What teachers are saying…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“This has been one of the BEST purchases for me on TPT! I love the activities, the I Can statements, the standards each activity addresses and the recording sheets to show the students are working on mastery and what extra help they need!  I highly recommend purchasing this product because it will make your Stations more productive and aligned with the standards.” – Daniela S.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “I was new to kindergarten this year and her center work was great in helping my students get to work at their centers/workstations. The format was the same and for a lot of the activities which students were able to work independently while I worked with small groups.” – Pattie P.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Once you prep the pieces they are so easy to grab for a quick literacy or math center. I love that a lot of the activities stay the same but change to match themes. Once you have modeled an activity the students will know what to do because the process is the same. This is such a great resource and is totally worth the money.” – Katie C.
