- Winter Word Search: Students will search for the winter words given and then use one of the words in a sentence. The words included on this word search puzzle are: ice, mittens, scarf, cold, winter, snow, January and hat. After students find the words and write a sentence, they can color the pictures of the kids playing in the snow.
- Hot Cocoa Word Search: Your kindergarten students will search for the winter words given and then use one of the words in a sentence. This is a great way for students to practice their spelling and sentence writing. The words included on this word search puzzle are: sledding, boots, wind, ski, plow, hot cocoa, frozen and snowman.
- My Christmas Break Recap: On this activity, students will write or draw a picture for the following: My First Day Off, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Favorite Gift, What I Ate, and Who I Saw. Your kindergarten students will love drawing pictures and sharing with the class, but even first grade and second grade students would enjoy this activity.
- My Winter Break Recap: On this activity, students will write or draw a picture for the following: My First Day off, Favorite Activity, Favorite Snack, Favorite Place I Went, What I Ate and Who I Saw.
- Complete the Scene: Students will complete the dot to dot snowman scene and then follow the directions to dress the snowman. This would be a fun whole group activity and will require your students’ attention.
- Winter Break Fix It Sentences: On this activity, students will read the sentences and then write them with the correct capitalization and punctuation. The best part about this activity is students can practice essential skills while celebrating the second half of the beginning of the year!

- Snowflake – Color by Letter: Students use the code to color the picture of the snowflakes.
- Mitten – Color by Number: Students use the code to color the picture of the winter clothing according to the numbers. This would be a great activity to use during quiet time in your classroom.
- Snowman- Color by Sight Word: Students use the code to color the picture of the snowman according to the sight words. The sight words on the color by code are: much, pick, wish, what, push, such, back and wash. These words align with the common core kindergarten word list for January.
- Ice Skating – Color by Color Word: Students use the code to color the picture of the ice skates according to the color words. Then students will use one of the words in a sentence.
- Welcome Back Snowman Hat: Students will color the hat and then cut it. You can use construction paper to add to the crown. This is a fun craft for your kindergarten and first-grade students!
- Snowman Friends Hat: Students will color the headband and cut it out. This is a fun idea to do with your whole class when they return from winter break.
