Animal Lesson Plans
What if you had animal teeth? Or animal ears? This series of books is so fun to read in the classroom. Your kids will be asking to borrow them long after you’ve used them for a lesson! We’ve put together five-day lesson plans for each one of these books in our What if you had Animal Series: Engaging Readers Bundle.
These animal lesson plans help develop learning about animal adaptations. Your class will work on noticing key details in the text, as well as, finding the author’s purpose, using text features, and forming an opinion.
What if you were a Zoo Animal?
Every year I taught kindergarten, we went to the zoo on a field trip. This was great because we always did a science unit about animals. I’ve added a little freebie at the end of this post for you to snag to tie in a study of zoo animals with these fun lesson plans. With the resources from our unit and the freebie, your students can make a fun book to display their learning.
As a class, you learn about different animal features in each “What if you had…” book.
After reading the story, students respond to the text and complete some opinion writing.
Crafts!
Finish up each book with a craft. Your students will love making these!
Here is another blog post to read more about teaching key details with this series.
Do You Need a Digital Verison?
