Pig Kahuna Digital Learning At-Home!
Are you adjusting to at-home learning yet? Maybe…? This is such a hard time for teachers and students. We all thrive on the interaction between each other. I hope I can help ease some of your stress with these no-prep digital learning at-home units.
Pig Kahuna is the perfect book for May and June. Fergus and his little brother, Dink, spend a day at the beach. (Where I wish I was right now!) I love the idea of using this book so close to Summer. It’s a great one to add to your list for ocean and beach week. Check out the story online here:
This unit provides several opportunities for students to respond to literature. Throughout the week, your kindergarten or first-grade students will practice opinion writing, making connections, retelling the story, and writing about the problem and solution.
Did you notice the QR codes? Students easily scan the QR code to listen to the story. The directions are recorded on a QR code, too! This allows for students to be mostly independent. (Some kiddos might need support using an electronic device.)
In addition to the written responses, students brush up on their math and literacy skills with some fun activities.
All of the tasks are preloaded to Seesaw to make it super easy for you! Simply click the link in the unit and save the activities for your students.
There are activities at both kindergarten and first-grade levels so you can easily differentiate if needed. There is no need to purchase two separate units, all of the resources are combined into one!
All of the resources are available in this unit:

I used your digital learning at home units when I was thrown into Covid remote learning last quarter. In the classroom, I very much enjoyed your engaging readers series. I would like to use it on the Seesaw platform this year. Will you be adding Seesaw links to the original Engaging Readers similar to the at home units?
Thank you! No, I am sorry will not be adding links to the existing bundles. We will be creating digital versions for those teachers who wish to have a digital format.
