What Worked Last Year? Literacy Station “I Can” Cards

June 26 Deedee 1 min read
I would have been lost without the organization that surrounded my literacy stations.
My students got really good at reading this board!
And with the “I Can…” cards, they became so independent.
I have been promising to update this unit FOR.EVER!
Have you ever thought about tidying up your closet and before you knew it, you had rearranged EVERYTHING?   That is what I did with this unit.
If you follow me on Facebook, I asked the question… “What do you want in this revision?”
You all gave me great ideas and I tried to incorporate all of them.  Then I realized…  I needed to make this an editable file as well.
Some of you call this time of your day “Stations” and some call them “Centers” and some call them “Jobs.”
So I did!
I hope you like the changes.   This file is now more than 3 times the original size!  YOW-ZA!

I made a space for you to clip the current “I Can” Card on the sign!  I just made a hole in the sign and added a circular paperclip!

It is quite a beast!  Here is what is included.

Click here to see the unit or if you have previously purchased it, you can get the revision at no additional charge.  The price will remain discounted until Friday at midnight.

Looking forward to checking this out. Used it some in the past years. Love how you give options to make it editable. Thanks for updating your products! Makes me feel like I'm getting a gift!

Love the space you made to clip the I Can chart right on the sign- so thoughtful of you. Thank you for all your hard work, Deedee.

Hi DeeDee, love your stuff! I'm excited to run my stations similarly to yours next year, I bought the pack and a couple stations and they are fantastic. I have a couple questions about timing. Do your students stay at their station for the full 15-20 minutes? Even in September? I'm guessing that there are multiple options in one station or students go to a dessert tub when finished. I'm just imagining some of my kids whipping through in 5 minutes. Also, what if a student doesn't finish or needs more time?
