Sneezy the Snowman Activities
How about some fun Sneezy the Snowman Activities? The blog post will share some reading comprehension, writing prompts, a craft, and more activities that are perfect for kindergarten and first grade. Let’s do this!
Sneezy the Snowman Lesson Plans: Close Reading
I love this fun book. It is precious, precious, precious! Sneezy the Snowman is a great book for studying cause and effect!
This was always a big hit in my kindergarten class.
Sneezy the Snowman Activities : Cause and Effect
This is one of those read-aloud books that are perfect for discussing cause and effect.
Here is a chart that shows how we make our thinking really concrete.
This is an older version of our Cause/Effect anchor chart from our Engaging Readers units.
Students then create their own version for their notebook.
We also have the option of using a whiteboard to manipulate the Sneezy the Snowman cause and effect cards.
This activity shows the updated Sneezy the Snowman cards.
Sneezy the Snowman Craft Activity
Another option is to make this fun craft and then place the cause and effect pieces on it.
You can also make these cause and effect cards that students can use as language support when they are discussing the text details… plus it is fun!
Sneezy the Snowman: Video
Here is a video version of the book. I love to include another model of expression and fluency for my class!
Sneezy the Snowman Activity: Making Predictions
The students did a great job of making predictions at the beginning of the book!
Sneezy the Snowman Activity: Inferring
We also did a little inferring with the book, Sneezy the Snowman. We asked the question, “Why do you think the snowman’s name was Sneezy?”
Here is an overview of the activities you will find in this set of Sneezy the Snowman Activities.

You can find all of the activities above in our Engaging Readers unit:
Sneezy the Snowman Lesson Ideas: Science, Math, and More
We also have a fun science experiment. Can you guess what the students are exploring?
And here are a few center activities that go with Sneezy the Snowman as well!

You may download these lesson plans for kindergarten PDF or an editable template. I have used Hello Literacy Fonts (which are free for non-commercial use). You may want to download her fonts and install them on your computer first. This way the formatting will not be off. Naturally, you can change the fonts if you prefer.
