The Gingerbread Man Digital Activities
The Gingerbread Man is a classic story that is perfect for this time of year! As you know, there are several variations. We chose to use the version by Jim Aylesworth. Here is the video we’ve linked to the digital activities in Seesaw.
This week-long set of reading lesson plans and digital activities are just what you need during this busy time of year. These no-prep activities provide students with engaging activities to keep them learning. With 1-click links, you can easily add each daily activity to your Seesaw library. SO.EASY.FOR.YOU! And that is exactly what we all need right now!
Let’s take a look at the reading comprehension activities students will complete throughout the week!
Each activity in Seesaw is linked with a video of the story. Although students may not need to listen every day, the option is there if they’d like to! On the first day, students practice visualizing a part of the story.
Day two is an activity that is always one of my favorites! Students retell the story using the microphone in Seesaw. They also put the story event pictures in order.
By day three, students are ready to draw and write about the problem and solution in the story. They also get to tell about how they would’ve solved the Gingerbread Man’s problem.
On day four, students dive into character traits. For this activity, students think about ways the fox tricked the Gingerbread Man. They draw a picture and write about two examples from the text.
Finally, at the end of the week, students share their favorite part of the story.
These digital activities are perfect for distance learning! We’ve also included a printable version if you are teaching in person. Plus, with this set of lesson plans and activities, you also get 3 more weeks of digital activities for your favorite gingerbread stories. Head over to my blog store (Hurry! It might still be on sale!) by clicking here:
