Literacy Center Activities for Kindergarten

• Perfect Pick Word Families – Students will sort the cards into short a word families and color the word family chunk on the response worksheet.  This is perfect for isolating letter sounds and spelling CVC words. 
• Word Families Puzzle – In this center, students will solve the word puzzle and color the word family puzzle.  This is perfect for isolating beginning, middle and ending letter sounds and spelling CVC words. 
• Nutty for Word Families – In this squirrel and nut themed literacy center, students will spin the spinner and write the word from the same word family. This is perfect for rhyming and identifying short vowel word families. 
• Words to Crow About – Students will say the first sound of the picture and then write the word on their response worksheet.  This is perfect practice for identifying initial sounds. 
• Fall Endings – This is a fall themed activity in which students will say the word and listen for the ending sound. Students will write the word and draw a picture on their response worksheet. This is perfect for identifying ending sounds.
• Seasonal Sight Words – This is a fall themed sight word center activity.  Students will spin the spinner and write the words.  This is editable so you can add your own high frequency words.
• November Sentences –  Students have two different sets of matching activities.  These sentences feature Thanksgiving and fall themed animal activity. There are TWO weeks worth of sentence work.

Math Center Activities for Kindergarten

• Nutty Number Formation Practice – In this center, students will start at the acorn and trace the numeral.  Students will then count the acorns on the center card and write the numeral again.  Numbers 1 – 20 are included in this math center activity.
• Pumpkin 10 Frames –  Students will count the seeds on the pumpkin 10 frames.  Then complete the ten frames on the pumpkin response page.  Numbers 1 – 20 are included.
• Turkey Base 10 Math Center – Students will count the base ten blocks and then write the number on the turkey response sheet. This is perfect to understand the relationship between quantities and numbers. 
• Counting Crows Make 10 – Students will count the crows in the tens frame and decide how many more crows they need to make ten. Then students will record the equation on the math response sheet. 
• An Orderly Feast – Students will say the numbers in order and then write them in order on the math response sheet. This is perfect practice for counting to 100 by 1s and 10s. 
• Thankful Addition – Students will count the different fall items and write an addition equation and the sum on the math response sheet. 
• Autumn Fun – Students will count the fall items and subtract the items with an X on them. Students will then write a subtraction equation and the difference on the math response sheet.
